does not reconize login & password

I’ve just installed Linix 7.0 which I purchased several years back but never got around to installing it. I installed it on an older Compauge notebook . At the requested time I entered the user name and password in the setup program. But now when I try to log in , it does reconize any of the data I entered. Is there a way to reset it. I can’t even get into the computer to delete the installation and re-install. Can someone help?

Hello moonfaceofoc and welcome to the openSUSE forum. When you say “I’ve just installed Linix 7.0” if you are talking about SuSE that version would be WAY before my time in Linux. Since no one here is going to know what you are talking about and we support only openSUSE versions here, why not consider downloading the latest version of openSUSE 11.3 on Thursday 7-15-2010 when it come out. Burn it to a disk and then install it. Then, if you have any issues, come back and we should be able to help you.

Thank You,

btw, i am unfamiliar with a “Linix 7.0” if you need more help with it
you probably need to find a “Linix Forum”, but if you meant to type
“Red Hat Linux 7.0” you should probably be other in a Red Hat Forum…

Sorry, no idea what “Linix 7.0” is. Are you sure that is what the box
says? Please copy the full name exactly.
