does leap 42.2 support pc with resolution UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) and i7-6700HQ?

a friend of mine would buy an Asus N552VW with resolution UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) and i7-6700HQ, does leap 42.2 support these characteristics?
manythanks, ciao pier

I don’t see why wouldn’t it.

This threads might be useful (though may be a bit dated):

It may also depend on the video hardware if that resolution is supported. What video card? The OS supports it the question is does the hardware

manythanks to glistwan for the links, very useful, it means that that resolution doesn’t works out of the box but it needs some tweaks

Yes usually that is the case. In Windows world for example in Windows 7 UHD is no go (you can’t really do anything but it worked quite well on modern Linux desktop with some tweaks at that time). In Windows 8 I think there are some switches to support it and in Windows 10 I guess it should work out of the box but I don’t know since I haven’t used it myself and I’m not interested enough to read about it. Please keep in mind that OS designers didn’t actually have to think about it in the past. For example when I started playing computer games on PC’s on MS-DOS I was doing that on a black and white monitor with 320x240 resolution. And then when Warcraft 2 was released my parents bought a colourful monitor (the old stopped functioning at around that time) that supported 640x480. The game was so beautiful for me  I couldn’t actually believe this is really possible with computer graphics.
