Does Kopete Allow you to use a webcam?

Just curious because I have one built into my laptop. I want a linux client that will allow my camera to participate in web chat with yahoo and Windows live messenger.

works fine here…it depends on your laptop hardware…that is, my
webcam has a linux driver…yours, i have no idea…

just use YaST to install Kopete (is it not already) and try it…

hmmm…actually, i should probably retract what i said…and, should
have written: my webcam works fine with Kopete (which i can see in
setup)…but, i have NO idea how it works “in web chat with yahoo and
Windows live messenger” as i’ve used neither…

everyone i wanna videoChat with uses Skype, and it works great…

Years ago I used kopete to video converse with my mother (who lives a continent) away with the webcam function built in kopete (web both used kopete from our respective Linux installs). But I recall it was a bit buggy then. Since then my mother’s webcam has died, so I have not had a video webcam conference with Linux for years.
