I reported a kernel bug concerning the touchpad about two weeks ago at bugzilla.novell.com. The bug has not yet been assigned nor been touched upon in any way. Searching the database reveals touchpad bugs dating back to 2009 unassigned as yet. Looking around I noticed that the Ubuntu community is working on this bug already.
In principle, this is fine as the Linux community spans many distributions. However, it appears to me that my bug report was a waste of time and I think the opensuse community should be clear and upfront about what can be expected from kernel bug reports.
I sympathize, but don’t see a question in there asking for help. You can ask a Moderator to move it to Chit-Chat or Soapbox. Just press the report button beneath the post and type the request.

When you see that, you can nag the developers where most of them are, on
the factory mail list.
