I see a lot of secondary 5 or 8 inch monitors (and on AIO cooler pumps) for hardware info. But, they all run on windows. Is there any Linux (opensource) software that runs these monitors similar to Aida64? I’ve played around with OpenRGB, OpenSignal some for lighting bling. Thanks, folks!!
Using pure FOSS configuration (no proprietary drivers installed), an extra display plugged in at some point should be automatically enabled. How and when it happens may depend on which WM or DE you use. What size the external is shouldn’t matter as long as it supports any mode your GPU supports.
Are you saying Aida64 is some sort of GPU benchmarking app for Windows only? Glmark2 in TW’s OSS repo is a “benchmark suite”:
# zypper info glmark2
…
Description :
A benchmark for OpenGL (ES) 2.0 that uses only the OpenGL ES 2.0 compatible
API. It contains tests for standard OpenGL (ES) 2.0 features, such as vertex
arrays, VBOs, texturing and shaders.
Do you mean something like this thing? → <Lamptron HM070V2 hardware monitor>
And, looking at AIDA64, that’s available for Android, iOS, ChromeOS, Sailfish OS and, Ubuntu Touch.
- In other words Linux and UNIX®-like operating systems.
Given that, the monitor mentioned above has a HDMI port and a micro-USB port, the HDMI port should be picked up by the Linux Desktop –
- The micro-USB port is possibly for the power-supply …
@louparker Hi, are you wanting to integrate with the case, or just a small external monitor?
Scary moment on Tumbleweed, I just plugged in a USB 10" Displaylink device and it worked OTB?

Thanks all for your timely responses. Yes, I saw the Lamptron offering, and that is what I am looking for. I saw the software compatibility for Linux-like OSs and didn’t know if that was close enough. Just wanted to geek around with that type of set up. Will try it. Thanks all!!!
