does anyone know how to do this?

hi. i want to install windows xp inside of linux. and so i want to install vmware to run it that way. can someoen explain it better here in this forum for me than is explained there at this page that follows:

linux ubuntu 11.4. and since i installed the disc i thought it was opensuse.

Forget the server version, and even more, forget its version 1.

I had really good luck using Oracle’s VirtualBox. Here is a thread where I asked about it. Read to the end for full details as it is working great now.

What VM do you recommend for openSUSE?

You can search the forum on VirtualBox as well and find lots of hits. Please_try_again has written a couple of scripts useful for use with VirtualBox. One can be used to reinstall the kernel modules when you update your kernel version and the othyer allows you to run a Linux LiveCD in a virtual session using only the ISO disk image and no need to make a boot disk. I do suggest you consider bulking up in memory and disk space depending on how you intend on using it., the more the better, but that is not required to check it out at all.
