DocFetcher on OpenSuse?

I am looking for an application that searches over a given collection of pdf files. (This would supposedly firstly require an indexing of al the files in the collection). Does anyone know if there is such an application for OpenSUSE/Linux? Does DocFetcher fulil this requirement?
