Do I need to adjust memory_limit in php.ini?

My server initially had 2GB of memory. I recently upgraded it to 8GB of memory. If I want apache/php to take full advantage of the memory, do I need to adjust the memory_limit value within php.ini?

Or is there anything at all that I should adjust or will it just know to use the memory I’ve added?

that setting inside the php configuration limits the memory usage a a single
call to a php file being processed. It is meant to protect you from a php
file that (by purpose or by accident / missusage) comsumes all the memory of
your server leaving you and other users behind.
You should never set that limit up to any value bigger that what a typical
script uses under normal circumstances.
Your daemons and applications will use the additional memory without such
modifications.
