I’ve just recently upgraded my system from 12.2 to 12.3. I added the following five repositories to do it:
0ss
Non-Oss
Update
Packman
libDVD/CSS
What I don’t understand is if I also need to install Non-Oss-Update repo. In the instructions for upgrading, it says that if I’m upgrading from 12.1 or older, then I should also add the Non-OSS-Update repo. I have in the past upgraded from 12.1 to 12.2 and now to 12.3.
So, should I add the Non-OSS-Update repo? (Or is it only necessary to do so if one is upgrading from 12.1 directly to 12.3?).
I have already flash installed since I have the non-oss repo. I guess you recommend adding the non-oss-update repo so that bugfixes for flash get updated.
What confuses me though is that the non-oss-update repo is not listed on openSUSE’s webpage for package repositories (Package repositories - openSUSE Wiki)
For new Linux and openSUSE users it is recommended to use the 3 default repositories (OSS, Non-OSS, Update) and Packman. Later on when you familiarize yourself with package management you can add more.
That makes me think that the update repo will update both Oss-packages as well as Non-Oss-packages!? Shouldn’t it say that they recommend to use 4 default repos instead of 3?
Thanks, I’ve added the repo. If you find out that it is not necessary to add it anymore, let me now.
Slightly related: I used to have a repo for openSUSE-12.2-fonts. I can’t find one for 12.3 though. Does that mean that the fonts have been added to the official Oss-repo? Or have they just not yet prepared the fonts-repo for 12.3?

An error in the wiki documentation. You can bring this to the attention
of the writers by posting where they are

Ok, I tried to do it by adding a comment in the discussion page on the “packages-repositories” wiki, and also by editing the text in “additional-packages-repositories”.
I’ve never participated in wiki-editing before, so I’m not sure that this is the way to bring it to their attention. Let me know if I’m off base and where I need to go instead.

That’s a way, yes.
You changes have to be audited and accepted by someone, though.

Another method is by posting into the wiki subforum somewhere here, or
into the web/wiki mail list. And sometimes, by posting into the factory
or projects mail lists to get the attention of maintainers and
collaborators.
