Of course you need hardware that can do this when you are lazy.
My method is to use humanware. I print first all odd pages, then I reshuffle, put them back in the feeder (there are eight possibilities to do this, but only one is correct) and print the even pages.
I have another printer, but when your printer manual does not mention this possibility I am afraid you should revert to humanware.
If an HP printer is capable of double sided printing, you should be able to configure it using the HP Device Manager.
If not, I have found that printing odd pages in reverse order and then putting them back into the tray as they came out and printing the even pages in normal order has worked on all the HP inkjets I have used.
