DNS trouble after updating to OpenSUSE 11.2

I just updated one computer from 11.2 Milestone 8 to the Release version. Everything seems to be working except for DNS lookups.

Internet connectivity is there - if I ping google.com, I get an “unknown host” error, while pings to 209.85.229.104 work just fine.

I tried both wireless and cable, no difference. Any ideas?

Hi
There was a reslov.conf issue, sounds like it’s carried over.
Manually delete the file /etc/resolv.conf and reboot your system.

That was it - works fine now. Thanks for the quick answer!

Hi
Your welcome, now go and enjoy 11.2

Just for the record, a reboot is not necessary. All you need to do is remake the
connection either with NetworkManager or ifdown/ifup, whichever you use.
