Hello, I am a computer science student, and my project is to install and configure a DNS server under Linux opensSUSLeap.
During my reverse zone configuration I unfortunately do not have the PTR format option as you see in the copy image.
Can anyone tell me why and how to configure my reverse zone in PTR format?
As this seems to be homework, I’m going to provide a hint: I suggest reviewing the documentation - when configured per the documentation, the reverse master zone gives you the ability to add PTR records (just confirmed that it’s not a bug).
An additional hint: Check to make sure you’ve entered all the necessary information correctly.

After re-reading and following the documentation, I managed to configure my reverse zone. I had indeed forgotten to configure the name server on my main zone.
