My network provides a default DNS address. I’d like to use the OpenDNS’ ones instead. I’m using knetworkmanager and I selected “Automatic DHCP, address only”. When I set 208.67.222.222 as DNS address, if I click on proprieties after connecting to that network, there are the backward address provided by my network, and 222.222.67.208 (backwards OpenDNS). Why?
Maybe You didn’t apply the change in the network manager settings. Maybe the old DNS address was left from before and will be removed after reboot. You might also try switching to a different profile and then back to the profile with manual DNS and see if it resolves the issue.

Done (even the reboot). The “problem is still here”. I set “manual” and now I’m using the opendns’.
Using this command I get the right addresses:
cat /etc/resolv.conf
output:
nameserver 208.67.222.222
nameserver 208.67.220.220
but in knetworkmanager there are the wrong ones. Probably it’ll be a bug.
It works for me. I have just created a different profile for my wireless (with DHCP address and manual DNS setting) and switched to it and it worked as expected. Only the manually entered DNS server was in my /etc/resolv.conf file. Switching back to full automatic profile set the DNS servers to the ones my router provides. The manual DNS server was not there any more. I don’t know hovewer why doesn’t it work for You.
Best regards,
Greg
