Display settings are lost

I just installed openSuse 11.2. Everything was fine.
My problem is:
I can adjust resolution of my display (i.e., 1024x768), but when I restart the system, the display settings come back to the older settings.
(I have Nvidia driver, updated from Nvidia repository.)

Do you have any idea?

Thank you.

How did you install? Upgrade / clean install? Gnome or KDE4?

Please post that and output of ‘cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf’. Last could be a ‘file not found’, that’s normal.

You have to be root to make the settings stick.

It was a clean installation.
I can’t post the xorg.conf file, because I’m not in my house, now. I will post it tonight, when I’ll get home.

Yes, I know.

Just checking.

There wasn’t /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
So, I saved “Configuration NVIDIA X Server Settings” in that file, and then, ran “sax2” from a terminal, and saved configuration from there.
That’s it.
Problem solved.

Thank you, very much!
