I upgraded from 11.2 to 11.3 with KDE. At first, everything was ok. My display was fine, font rendering was fine and all was well. After a reboot, everything went wrong. First, the screen resolution was wrong - it went from the proper 1280x1024 to 1024*960 with no help from me. OK - I got into configure desktop, and changed the display back to 1280x1024. Having done that, the font antialiasing was totally messed up. The fonts were ugly, faint, and hard to read. Again, I went into configure desktop to the font settings in appearance and changed the antialiasing setting from system to on and set it to RGB full with no exclude range. Having done so, the fonts look alot better, but still not as good as before. The fonts in Open Office are still horrible and sketchy (they used to be just fine), and the display seems pokey.
I’m using the X86_64 version of 11.3 and have an ATI Radeon 9200 video card using the radeon driver, which I confirmed with hardware information in Yast. How do I get my old fonts and performance back? Is there a place with system defaults that has somehow been hosed? If so, where can I find it and fix it??
Thanks.
