Just boot the previous kernel. With openSUSE defaults you should have
both installed.

(from 13.1 x86_64 ā€œBottleā€ (Minas Tirith))

how to boot previous kernel ?
I dont know ā€œcommandā€ to do this ?

Choose ā€˜Advance options…’ at the grub menu. From there you should get a choice of installed kernels to boot from.

thank you.
now in 3.11.6-4 desctop - I have wifi and wired connection
but in:
3.11.10-7 desctop - I have not wifi nad wired

by default my opensuse maybe start 3.11.10-7 desctop and I have problem :frowning:

Can I fix them ?

You probably need to tell us more about your network hardware

/sbin/lspci -v

Just locate and post the output pertaining to your network devices. Please enclose within

...[/CO..] tags to preserve the output formatting.

Hi, when I start 3.11.6-4 desctop Kernel I see wifi networks in my area, but when I connected, have no internet access.
I run /sbin/lspci -v and show me this ( I paste all info )

But now to see this I need to use advanched options and set 3.11.6-4 desctop Kernel in other Kernel I have not view any networks :frowning:

Okay, well the results with the older kernel are as expected (ie working). I note from your ā€˜lspci’ output that you’re using the proprietary ā€˜wl’ wireless driver. So, you will have to update the driver to match the newer kernel.

The trick will be installing ā€˜broadcom-wl-kmp-desktop’ (assuming desktop kernel installed) for the newer kernel. Can you use wired ethernet with new kernel? (There should be no issue with that.)

Because the broadcom-wl-kmp package contains the driver in precompiled form, it should make no difference which kernel is running or even installed when the package is being installed.

So just install the updated package using the old kernel where wireless works.

Thanks wolfie. So as simple as

sudo zypper up broadcom-wl-kmp-desktop

Marcus Meissner just said (Monday) that all KMPs will have to be
rebuilt, and an update issued.

Ah, the plot thickens. Thanks Carlos. So an updated package is imminent?

That’s only applicable for openSUSE’s KMP packages (like the virtualbox host and guest kmps f.e.).

Packman’s broadcom-wl-kmp packages have been rebuilt already against the new kernel 3 days ago.
Have a look at the repo or the homepage and you’ll see that the version is 6.30.223.141_k3.11.10_7-2.7, which means it is built against kernel 3.11.10-7.
http://packman.links2linux.de/package/broadcom-wl

but I have not internet on the 2 Kernel`s
Not Wi-fi
not wired :frowning:

Now i install broadcom-wl-kmp-desktop-6.30.223.141_k3.11.10_7-2.7.x86_64.rpm ( With USB flash) in to the New Kernel and now I look wifi networks and can connect but have not internet :frowning: in other my machine (Windows OS ) have but on openSUSE have not, I connect to my wifi now but internet have not…

by the way: Sorry for my English, he is not perfect but I`m from Bulgaria

But according to your post#9 wireless did work with kernel 3.11.6:

If your DNS does not work, just try to replace the ā€œnameserverā€ address in /etc/resolv.conf with ā€œ8.8.8.8ā€.
