I have tried : sudo -u gdm gconftool-2 --set --type boolean /apps/gdm/simple-greeter/disable_user_list true
and gconf-editor and check the appropriate box.
Still not working. Is there a fix for this?

Hi
Did you run the command as root user, eg open a terminal and the su - to root user.
Yes I did and also, I logged in as root.
If I go back and look at the gconf-editor > gdm > simple-greeer > disable user list is checked
Hi
gconf-editor is only applicable to the current user’s desktop… not gdm user. Did you possibly modify something else?
