I’m surprise not to find a simple way to disable a running hardware device.
The trackpad works and even has a vertical scroll that wasn’t there back when it was purchased with windows,
but unlike other OS’s, there doesn’t seem to be a simple way to disable the trackpad, nor the auto-disable on typing feature I remember having with Ubuntu (or maybe this is in the Libre Office?)
Sorry for teh scant post but I am busy, tired after the sign up rigamoral with novel and searching documentation with no joy
This is getting quite annoying and I currently don’t have time to switch distros over this.
There is no 3rd party support for this trackpad,
I know a lot of us are skilled with mucking about in conf files but the lack of GUI options for the trackpad seems like a large oversight to me.
Maybe this is a question for KDE specifically?
and the best options are available via the “Synaptiks” utility, there’s no way to know to look for that without prior experience with the Utility, and it could be confused with a Synaptics specific utility that I’d installed when this installation of 12.3 was setting in another laptop (went smoothly. All I had to do was remove two Nvidia packages and no more system freezes. or it might have been Firefox plugins. I’m new to this, and under time pressure for what I actually use my laptop for - OpenSUSE KDE is (normally) amazing for productivity - have no idea where relevant logs reside lol!)
