Disable SWAP discovery?

Is there an opensuse kernel option to disable swap discovery? My searches have been unsuccessful. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You will have to explain first what is SWAP discovery.

perhaps useful:
file:///usr/src/linux/Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt
file:///usr/src/linux/Documentation/kernel-docs.txt

but i don’t know what swap discovery is, nor if it might be something in
a vanilla kernel, or distro applied (since you asked “an opensuse
kernel”, like that might make a difference)…

how do you use the option in (say) the Debian, Red Hat, BSD or [fill in
what you have used that has this option] kernel?

Searching I found many article, reports, etc like the one below, but they pertained to knoppix, debian, ubuntu. I was looking for an opensuse solution. Thank you.

As discussed on #pkg-sysvinit (with pere and mbiebl) it would be great to be able to control use of swap-partitions before the system boots up.

Adding support for a bootoption “noswap” would provide the option to disable the use of swap-partitions/-files before booting the system at all or manually editing /etc/fstab.

Use cases for disabling swap before system startup are for example corrupt swap-partitions/files, …

First, you have to answer our questions. What do you understand for
“disabling swap discovery?” What is “swap discovery”?

We do not know. We know what is swap, enabling it, disabling it… but not
“swap discovery”.

are you asking if there is a way to prevent an openSUSE system from
mounting a swap partition during boot?

if that is what you are asking, why would you call it “a kernel option
to disable swap discovery”?

and why would you want such?
