disable KDE environment Activities

Hello,

I am currently running OpenSuse 13.1 64 bit KDE , lately I am getting a lot of permission and key change request from the distro during update.

I am finding that for some reason, my computer boots with without displaying any desktop icons and there is no way to access my desktop icons(I deleted all other “Activities”, I dislike the feature). Generally if I reboot, I boot with all of my desktop icons. However this resets where they were before and it is starting to bother me because I set my course work on the left side of the screen and research to the right and Misc in the middle, and all the folders and icons are stacked to the left.

I was wondering if I could disable/delete “Activities” feature completely.

Just close all of the activities that you are not using.

ALT-D, ALT-A will get you the activities manager.
Click on the square box for all activities other than the current one. The current one won’t have that square.

Then you won’t accidentally switch activities ever again (unless you re-enable them or create a new activity).
