I think it is launched as soon as you run Evolution (to handle reminders for
calendar and tasks).

If you do not use Evolution just stop that service with gnome status monitor
and save your gnome session and select “remember the current running
processes” so it is not being launched at start-up… unless you run
evolution again. Dunno if it possible to disable at all :-?.

And why do you want to disable “evolution-alarm-notify”? :-?

By stopping that service you will not get any notifications and that’s why I
guess is an evolution inherent service.

The notifier is part of the Evolution program, not sure if it can be
disabled when Evolution is up and running.

If you do not want to see any alarm or notices, just try to turn-off any
reminder from calendar and tasks.

I made a slight goof… IT always ask for a password. Can that be turned off.The notify would not be a bother. If it didnt always ask for a password.

Oh, yes… that keyring daemon

I couldn’t get rid off it, it always ask for global password at first
Evolution launch.

I think this behavior is due to some opensuse “evolution-data-package” which
comes compiled with keyring flag switched on…
