What desktop environment are you using (KDE3,KDE4,Gnome…)?

Whoa…I didn’t tell. I’m using KDE4.

~Mask.

You just need to drag the icon to the desktop.
Or you can go to the desktop folder and right click > new > link to application
select the icon and name in the general tab and add the path in the application tab > command field.
This will show up on the desktop if you are using a folder view

I think I know how to do it now - I want to run a command to start it. is it possible to create an icon for the command somehow?

TM.

Um… where to put the command? It needs to be executed as root and I’d like to have it as an icon on my desktop…

Greetz!

Or you can go to the desktop folder and right click > new > link to application
select the icon and name in the general tab and add the path in the application tab > command field.

geoffro
To start it as root before the command add kdesu.
