DigiKam will not start OpenSuse 13.1

Just get the bouncing Digikam icon and the Taskbar showing “Digikam” with the “spinning wheel” for about 30 seconds and then >>>>>> Nothing.

Can anyone help?

run it from a terminal window and see what message you get

Launch it from a terminal, this often reveals some error messages the GUI is hiding from you.

Does ~/.xsession-errors have anything related to digikam?
