Hi everybody,
What’s the difference between snapshot-media and current release on the tumbleweed download page?
Hi
Nothing, Current links to the latest snapshot, AFAIK it’s a link so used at the download page it will always download the latest snapshot, else they would have to update the page on every snapshot release…
See here: openSUSE Tumbleweed - Get openSUSE
It links to the ‘current’ iso image.
It’s exactly like that. To elaborate: TW is released over and over again. A bunch of updates come in from upstream, packages get automagically rebuilt, openqa drops in and tests, new image gets released. Completely different from how Gentoo and Arch do it, but I love the openqa step in the whole cycle.
I’ve found that “current” is the regular TW release,
And “snapshot” is an intermediate release, sometimes daily.
Awhile back,
There was something I was looking for that I understood was built a day after a TW release that I really wanted, and found it in the snapshot.
