Didn't want Suse installer, now vista is away

Hi,

I have a big problem.

I installed successfully Suse on my Tablet PC (acer) but unfortunately I installed also the Suse installer at my other PC (running Vista Ultimate) in Windows (the .exe file).

I NEED VISTA AT THIS PC :’(:’( (The settings/files/programs of 5 Years are running with this Vista)

So one day my PC crashed and made a reboot. But now I’ve Grub and it says that I can only boot Suse 11.1 Installer.
So I insert the Fujitsu Recovery DVD and clicked on repair system -> No faults were found on this Vista. Then I made a fixboot and fixmbr.
After this I had the Vista bootloader again. There are 2 entries: Suse 11.1 Installer and Vista. Both entries brought me back to Grub and he says Suse 11.1 Installer only.

Then I tried to boot Vista with Grub.

I made:

geometry (hd0)

Partition num: 0, Filesystem type is ntfs, partition type 0x27
Partition num: 1, Filesystem type is ntfs, partition type 0x7
Partition num: 2, Filesystem type is ?E, partition type 0x7
Partition num: 4, Filesystems type is ntfs, partition type 0x7

and tried to boot one after the other:

Partition 0: I came to Fujitsu Siemens Recovery System (Whole System Reset)
Partition 1: I came to Vista bootloader and the whole story started again (First Vista Bootloader then Grub)
Partition 2: Can't boot anything
Partition 4: Also can't boot anything

So now I’ve none Idea remaining. Please help me :’(:’(

P.S. I can edit the files on HD0 with an other PC

Ok thanks,

I read all the articles and tried out but now I have the problem, that C: \boot\bcd ist missing.

I can’t make del C: \boot\bcd

So I skipped the part and of course it didn’t work.
But there is no file “C: \boot\bcd”. So how can I delete this stupid file.

Are you doing it correctly.
I’m no win expert but

C:\boot\bcd

without the space
cd to \boot then do: (I’m kinda guessing)
del \bcd

or

del bcd

if you cd to \boot and type: dir
you should get a list

Hi,

sorry the space is because of that smile -> :\ ^^

Yes I changed the directory and then “dir” but there is no “bcd”

Also the del command says “File not found”

I would guess you are doing something wrong. All this is done from the vista dvd
Have a look at this thread too: Winhoes no longer likes to boot after fresh install - Page 4 - openSUSE Forums

Get your vista boot repaired and then we can look at getting suse added with this: Download EasyBCD 1.7.2 - NeoSmart Technologies

or grub if you prefer

I got it!!!

You can not make del C: \Boot\bcd but you can use the commands bcdedit.exe /delete [GUID] in order to delete all the entries.

Thanks a lot
