Did I find a repositary problem?

I am assuming that this is the appropriate sub forum. It would seem that I
have stumbled upon a repository problem while looking for a Firefox 3.5.5
package. Having recently learned about file verification hashes, this
concerns me a bit.

I really do not like surprises.

We would need to see what sources you are using.

zypper lr -d

1 | download.opensuse.org-non-oss | Main Repository (NON-OSS) | Yes | Yes | 99 | yast2 | Index of /distribution/11.2/repo/non-oss |
2 | download.opensuse.org-oss | Main Repository (DEBUG) | Yes | Yes | 99 | yast2 | Index of /debug/distribution/11.2/repo/oss |
3 | download.opensuse.org-oss_1 | Main Repository (OSS) | Yes | Yes | 99 | yast2 | Index of /distribution/11.2/repo/oss |
4 | openSUSE 11.2-0 | openSUSE 11.2-0 | Yes | No | 99 | yast2 | cd:/// |

Well I guess that is an ASCII mess enough, I am not signing it.

You ought to disable the DVD

Add this repo
Index of /repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2
Give it a higher priority than the res so say: 90

Then in Yast switch packages to the ones from this repo
Like this (this is showing Packman though) ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

<img src=“http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2641/4102612380_fd029a2546_o.png” >

I should probably remove the debug repo.

I have actually been receiving more mismatched check-sums.

Indeed a good idea, or at least make it No | No

DOAH!

Bugger Firefox 3.5.5 has not been compiled properly yet.http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2764/4101875057_1c26611149_o.png

That’s because all your repos should be 99 priority
Except FFox/Mozilla - change that to 90

I did not know that I could set a priority for individual packages. How
does that work, I did not see and option for it. Here I though that I could
only set a priority for whole repositories!

More importantly, why would I want to set a priority for individual
packages? Delayed install perhaps? I am rater new to this concept.

I am assuming that I have to wait for FireFox 3.5.5 to be compiled
specifically for OpenSUSE.

To clarify:
I mean the repo not the package - sorry I wasn’t clear

Actually in 11.2 it’s not so important because there is the package switch so you can force an update from any repo. Like in this example:
ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

Personally, I would not recommend changing priorities in the repos as it can lead to dependency issues. I would leave all repos set at 99.
