have medical cd, how do i get to view dicom file on opensuse 12.1?
what program do i need if something isnt already installed

I would try using an image viewer.
I use this http://graphics.tudelft.nl/Projects/DeVIDE for DICOM related
work.
If you just want to view some files it is probably overkill to use that.
Long ago I also used ImageJ I do not know its current status.

i don’t know what is needed for your system, but for viewing DICOM, you should have a powerful and ,of course, completer image reader. you can download one from the internet and if you want to use your version, you can read the pages and find out what is lacked in your reader, good luck!
