devel_basis,devel_C_C++ patterns pull in xserver/gui parts

Hi all,

I have a headless server, and wanted to install C++ build tools, so I tried installing the devel_C_C++ pattern. However, I noticed that zypper wanted to install gtk items, and x server. From a quick glance it looks like the devel_basis pattern is the culprit.

Does this make sense? If this is really the case:

  • why?
  • is there a better package/pattern that install dev/build tools for headless systems?

Just install packages that you actually need directly.
