Desktop Window Application Launcher(?) Stuck

Hello,

my desktop window with the icons for application launcher is not anymore “re-sizeble” because of the bar at the bottom of the desktop. How do I get back to previous form with sizeble window?

it may be obvious to you, but not to us…and, it probably will
determine the answer, so please tell us

what operating system and version you use

what desktop environment and version you use

did the move from having a sizable window come with what? a change in
version of operating system or desktop environment? an update? a setting
you changed?

did you reset “the bar at the bottom” in someway? and it was then that
this trouble began?

can you take a screen shot and upload it to paste.opensuse.org and then
give the URL back to us here, please

if you use YaST > Security and Users > User and Group Management to
temporally add a new TestUser, then log out and log back in as the
TestUser, is the desktop window with the icons for application launcher
re-sizeble again??

perhaps you are unfamiliar with KDE4? if so maybe you will find some
good hints here:

http://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/html/openSUSE/opensuse-startup/art.kdequick.html

before you can make adjustments to the panel or the desktop you must
first right click on the desktop and select “Unlock Widgets” and then go
to the panel or widget you wish to adjust and click on its controls…

be sure to “Lock Widgets” once finished adjusting, otherwise things can
get pretty hectic…

Thanks I made it good. I was worried in clicking “Unlock Widgets”.

welcome! as you probably now see and understand the widgets can not be
changed, moved, added or deleted as long as they are locked…which is
why i mentioned when you are finished adjusting them always lock them
down again…otherwise you can expect unintended deletions, movements
etc etc etc!!
