hi,
my desktop is blinking, at the top of the screen a white line appears from time to time , this since last update , is there way to identify the culprit ?
i’m using openSUSE 13.1 , kde 4.12.1 , radeon driver (amd hd 4850 GC) with kernel as follows
# uname -r
3.13.0-1.g4b6e17a-desktop
thanks
anyone that could help ? maybe linked with radeon (?)
Sounds like a video issue. What to tell us a bit more?
What else would you like to know ?
I have an amd graphics card (hd 4850) , using radeon.
Did you have a kernel/video driver update?
yes indeed for the kernel, i’m now with
uname -a
Linux linux-opensuse131 3.13.0-1.g4b6e17a-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jan 22 17:02:23 UTC 2014 (4b6e17a) i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
hi ,
anymore ideas ?
thanks
Have you tried the propritary driver?
i’m afraid that the proprietary driver is not able to manage my old graphics card, is it ? (
Radeon HD 4850 )
# lspci |grep VGA
08:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV770 [Radeon HD 4850]
shall i update xf86-video-ati ? from where ? i’ve tried but it tries to add the one i have.
