We’ll need A little more info. What we need is What Suse version 10.3 or 11.0 & whether you are using Gnome or KDE.

kde 3.5 (though before i lost kde 4 to the checkerboard, they did not show there either) … sorry about the ommissions …

not sure if this helps, my KDE3:
(right click desktop, create new, link to url)
my computer is a shortcut to “sysinfo:/”
trah is a shortcut to “trash:/”
I dont have network on my desktop but you can also right click an entry in the KDE menu and select there to make a shortcut to your desktop
