I’m new to openSUSE and just installed a virtual machine of it on my Mac.
I’m noticing that the icons on the desktop for the Trash, Firefox, Office and others don’t do anything when they are double-clicked. Instead they are highlighted with some options surrounding them which don’t appear to do a whole lot, and when highlighted they can be moved across the desktop. Right now the only way I can launch an application is from the launcher in the lower left corner of the screen. I’d sure like to know what I’m doing wrong here! Thanks.
It is long shot but got to a icon wright click on the mouse ask
for properties and give us the out come
One left click should be enough to launch a application
double click tha you launch two times

Actually it’s only a single-click to open if the environment is set to
use single-clicks to open. That is not always the case.
Good luck.
