Desktop Front Speaker Jack is inoperative with Tumbleweed

I am in a room with several other SUSE users. We can’t all use speakers, so, I have earphones for the desktop system Front earphone jack.
With tumbleweed, the front jacks are inoperative. HOWEVER, they work with SUSE13.2

I would like to caution about not having the operating front earphone jack inoperative. Can this be fixed, as eventually Tumbleweed would become SUSE15.x?

Please correct title spelling of inoerative -->inoperative

When your intention is to warn/ask Tumbleweed users about this, why didn’t you start this thread in the place where the Tumbleweed users gather: The Tumbleweed forum?

Do you want me to move this to the Tumbelweed forum?

And note, that it is “openSUSE”, not “SUSE”. “SUSE” is the commercial side and is downstream from “openSUSE”. There is a forum especially for “SUSE”.

you never really said what DE you wore using, did you check and see (with kmix) if perhaps the volume of the front jack is set to zero, and that the proper audio device was selected not the HDMI device

no Tumbleweed is supposed to be a stable rolling distribution always providing the latest (maybe not the greatest) version of the kernel and has more applications then the numbered build, meaning when using Tumbleweed you only need to do regular updates and your openSUSE will always be the newest around, afaik the next version should be 13.3 #15 is a distant future.

ps as Tumbleweed has a rapid development cycle I really think you should ask in the Tumbleweed forums.
