desktop display size too large want smaller as default

I am using OS 11.0

Every time I boot my laptop (dell inspiron 9300 - ati video M300). I get the desktop display as 1920 X 1200. This is too large for my default. I use KRandRTray to resize back to 1024 X 768.

Question:
How can I set 1024 X 768 as the default but still have the option to go to 1920 X 1200?

Run YaST/Hardware/Graphics Card and set the default resolution there, or modify /etc/xorg.conf by hand.

ty, this does work and made my default as 1024 x 768

NOTE:
i can not got to 1900 X 1200 using KRandR, the high res is only 1024.

any other way to make 1024 default but still go back to 1900
I work with very large formatted photos and need to go back to 1900 now and then
