Hi,
Does the Desktop Cube Window Management KDE 4.1 Effect work for everyone else? For it to work for me, I have to select Desktop Cube and Desktop Sphere or Desktop Cylinder. If I don’t also select one of the other effects also, Ctrl-F11 does not do anything.
Am I overlooking something?
Any thoughts?
I am new to Suse and had a lot of issues this weekend trying to run KDE 4 at first it seemed to work fine but as I tried playing with the settings it caused me problems and I would have things disappear.
I reloaded Open Suse and currently running in Gnome mode and find I like it better.
I just learned today you dont need to reinstall…you can set up OS to give option at boot time which desktop environment you want to run each time you boot…See how to here:

The issue was resolved when I upgraded to KDE 4.2. 
Upgrading to 4.2 didn’t work for me. Still the same problem.
Please state your EXACT problem. Do you use Compiz Fusion for these effects? If so, you might have installed the wrong graphic driver…
Would be a good thing if you´d post your system configuration.
