Desktop and DesktopFolder 11.1 KDE4.1

When I right click on an application in the launcher and select “Add to
Desktop” it appears on the desktop but not in the DeskTop Folder.
Where exactly are the items on the Desktop stored?
Is there a way to move them to the desktop folder, where they are
better behaved (e.g. auto arrange to grid)

You should be able to drag and drop to the desktop folder

go to /usr/share/application
you will see a lot files with .desktop . copy the file you want to your
home desktop folder.

Thanks kobolds, the drag and drop works as suggested.

I am going to assume that the “traditional” right click on an
application and selecting ‘put on desktop’ is supposed to be putting it
into the Desktop Folder, but does not due to a bug (feature?)
