Dependency resolution failed (libuuid)

Hello there. Linux newbie here, currently using Tumbleweed. I use it for browsing and games.

The other day I tried to install a mod launcher for Lethal Company, but I couldn’t install the rpm file, it said it required Libuuid, so I tried to install it on my own.

I failed. I’m not quite sure what I did, and now everytime I have new updates in Discover, I get this error when trying to update all:

Dependency resolution failed:

problem with the installed libuuid-devel-2.40.2-599.10.x86_64 problem with the installed libuuid1-2.40.2-599.10.x86_64

How can I solve this? Whatever info you need from me I will provide. I’m sorry in advance for my lack of experience, but I’m done with Windows and I want to stick with Tumbleweed.

Thank you

@cheeseworm Hi and welcome to the Forum
In openSUSE it’s called libuuid1 so as long as it’s installed, you should be safe to ignore/break the dependency.

Welcome to the forum!!

With TW it’s preferred to use the command line for updates (vs Discover), such as:

# zypper -vv dup

What happens if you execute that?

Thank you for your responses.

The error only appears with Libuuid and I’m able to update everything else. So, if I follow @malcolmlewis advice, I can ignore not being able to update Libuuid. Also, when I refresh the list, Libuuid goes away.

@aggie when executing that command it says:
“The following 297 package updates will NOT be installed”
Followed by a big list of things, and in the end “Nothing to do”, but I guess it’s because I have everything updated.

I will use that command next time I need updates.

Thank you both. I will mark Malcolm’s response as the solution, but I really appreciate the useful command, Aggie.
