I get following error during automatic patch upgrade of my SuSE 11.2 to latest path revision. I assume it is due to the KDE 4.3.5 Update part of the patch set:
compiz-kde4-0.7.8-9.14.x86_64 requires libkdecorations.so.4()(64 bit) but there are no providers.
The package manager suggest to replace compiz-kde4-0.7.8-9.14.x86_64 with kwin-4.3.5-0.2.1.x86_64 but I don’t want to loose compiz-kde.
Please advise on which repository I must add to resolve the dependency.
Thanks. Upgrade successfully applied. I did not realize how well the composite extensions have been integrated into kwin4.
I notice in YaST that I still have several compiz packages and libraries, probably from when I was still on SuSE 11.1 with KDE 3.5. Can I safely throw them away? I’m not planning to use gnome or some other window manager/desktop environment.
It’s more like that I want to keep my system clean and tidy and with every major upgrade, more obsolete stuff seems to be piling up, leading to needless and confusing dependency warnings.
Furthermore, with more stuff on my system, major upgrades (like a few months ago from 11.1 to 11.2) eat a lot of bandwith, which is still a small issue due to monthly quota on my internet subscription. Though, the ISP has raised the quota already a few times so it is becoming less of an issue.
