Just wanted to share this. I’ve had Suse in the past on a few computers but it’s been a few years. My sister recently bought a MacBook Pro and tossed aside her old dell laptop. I had a broken Compaq that did have an almost new 7800 rpm hard drive and 2 gigs of ram that almost went to waste with it. But I took the hard disk and ram and put in this Dell. Then I set about thinking whether to install Win7 or not. About a week later Suse popped back into my head so I went and found openSuse, downloaded it and put it on a USB stick and installed it on the beefed up old Dell. She’s been up and running KDE for a couple weeks now and I honestly could not be happier. I didn’t want to bog the “old” machine down with Win7 anyway. The computer has had a whole new life breathed into her. Fast and sleek and easy I have completely fallen in love with openSuse. I’ve always thought it was the best system overall, for me, and let’s face it how great is it to re-discover something you used to love? I’m thrilled

I gotta say too I went with the 64 bit version to get the most out of the computer. I’ve had 0 trouble. It’s smooth as silk, and the best thing is I came back just in time, looks like 20 days to the new version. I can’t wait!
the same from me: welcome back! It is always nice to read stories like this.
Somehow I also can´t wait until these 26 days are gone. I am really curious and excited, what 12.1 will bring and how awesome it will be.
Thank you both. I have had er going about a month or so and just got the wireless working a week or so ago. I really think Suse is probably the best overall OS I’ve ever used. My opinion of course. I’ve had many Macs and many PCs since about 93. It’s just fun, and that’s the most important. I’ve gotten overly frustrated at every version of Windows, even some Mac OSes but really never felt that way here. I start feeling better as the computer boots which doesn’t happen often for me. Kudos to those much smarter and more talented than me who know how to write code and care enough to continue to do so. I’m just here to have fun and play.

the same goes for me. Although I did not have that many OS´ses on my computers. But I had 4 versions of Windows and a couple of Linux distros running. And also among the Linux distros, Suse is outstanding in terms of userfriendlyness and stability. And of course this forum makes a big PLUS for it too.
