delete to 'trash' not available for 2nd harddrive

I have 2 harddrives in my system. one is configure for use with openSuse. The 2nd harddrive, I create a single partition with ext3 filesystem.

After mounting the drive, it is working as I would expect it to except for one thing. I can only permanently delete the file but not able to move it to the ‘trash’ folder.

Could someone give me some insight to fix this?

Thanks

What do have the second drive ?
Trash is some thing that belongs to desktop of a user.
Never try it but it might be possible to link a trash to the second drive

How do you go about linking a trash to the 2nd harddrive?

The only folder located in the 2nd harddrive after the ext3 file system was installed is ‘lost+found’. Nothing else. This file system was mounted in /mnt/hdd2.

I found that the trash on my boot harddrive (ie. 1st harddrive) is located at /home/myaccount/.local/share/Trash.

Unfortunately, I’m dont know how the trash is supposed to work on linux and what it’s supposed to encompass. I’m simply going based on my knowledge of Windows. In Windows, deleting files from a 2nd harddrive also end up going to the trash where it could be recovered later. It could be that this is how linux works. I dont know. If anyone has any experience, do let me know.
