default system

hi,

I’ve just installed openSuse 11.0. My another system is vista.
I’d like vista to be my default system, now it’s suse.

I edited /boot/grub/menu.lst in many ways, but it didnt help.
Menu.lst looks so:

###Don't change this comment - YaST2 identifier: Original name: windows 1###
title windows 1
    rootnoverify (hd0,5)
    chainloader (hd0,0)+1

###Don't change this comment - YaST2 identifier: Original name: windows 2###
title windows 2
    rootnoverify (hd0,5)
    chainloader (hd0,1)+1

windows1 is the primary partition with OS; windows2 is the recovery partition. Can anyone help me with this?

Arczi

i think you can configure this in yast bootloader. there’s column on left.

I can’t quite figure out your question. If it is that you can boot into vista but you’d like vista to be the system that boots by default then follow the advice of modulep. If it is that you can’t even boot into Suse then let me know and I’ll advise about that.

the problem was I couldn’t make vista my default system.

thanks modulep, it works

great. and thanks for swerdna’s support.
