You can use the install dvd/cd to restore to its original state. boot from the cd/dvd choose installation and choose update. It’s been a while when I did this method on the previous releases so can’t tell exactly the right sequence.
Or maybe turn off all of your existing repositories except for the opensuse 11 oss and update your system.
What do you mean by default? openSUSE installs those files needed for your hardware and your choice of desktop. The only way you can return to that is to do a completely fresh reinstall including /home.
For example, when I added additional keyboard layouts, openSUSE chose to install the dictionaries relevant to those languages, even though I had not installed them all previously.
openSUSE creates the installation that it thinks will best suit your needs, not a one size fits all default.
anyone … please post user-packages.xml - YAST package manager > File > Export > save package list
Hum… this will be the “default” only if it’s a clean install… and I think nobody here has a clean install anymore
You had better to use the recovery option of the dvd.
