I am trying to compile deal.II which is a finite element code library for a broad variety of PDEs.
I cannot get latest version deal.ii 9.3.1 to compile on opensuse. I have filed issue on deal.ii github page and it is being investigated.
But, older version, i.e., 9.2.0 fully compile as do even earlier versions.
I am trying to add addons like hdf5, petsc, gmsh, etc in the config process and keep getting messages about “unfound” libraries, etc from the deal.ii cmake system: even though these addons are installed through opensuse repos into standard locations. These errors do not give the desired addon to the deal.ii system. I am working with the older version, 9.2.0.
Question: Are there any opensuse users that have compiled the deal.ii latest 9.3.1 version? Would you share any secrets you may have found?
Are there opensuse users of deal.ii (likely using older versions of deal.ii) who have successfully incorporated some of the many addons to deal.ii? If so would you share any secrets you may have found?
We could swap questions and answers privately or through this thread; as you wish.
This package looks really interesting if I can get it running. Thanks all, tom kosvic
