ddiwrapper?

Can anyone point me to the ddiwrapper source?
It sounded promising and then disappeared a number of years ago. Makes me wonder if novell deep sixed it.
Thanks If you can help.

ddiwrapper
Support for Windows Printer Drivers under Linux
(in openSUSE 10.2)

ddiwrapper is able to load Windows 2000 or XP printer drivers (limited
to Canon ink jet drivers at the moment) and uses them to convert BMP
input data to the printer’s proprietary language. It comes with a
printer description file that allows ddiwrapper to be used as a
back-end for the CUPS printing system as well as as a script that
extracts printer drivers from downloaded EXE files. The accompanying
README file explains how to install drivers and how to set up
ddiwrapper as a CUPS back-end.

Support for ddiwrapper was discontinued in openSUSE version 10.3 and no longer applies to any present version of openSUSE. If you have a problem, please state what that problem is. What printer are you trying to use with openSUSE? Please provide openSUSE version & Desktop being used.

Thank You,

I’m using 12.1. I wanted to have a look at ddiwrapper, saw that there wasn’t a package and that is why I asked about the source. If it was GPL’d and the source is still available I’d like to try compiling it. After all, that’s what Linux users have been doing for the past 20 years. If it isn’t GPL’d then I’m not interested.
Thanks, Mark

If you look here
http://www.novell.com/products/linuxpackages/opensuse/ddiwrapper.html
you see it is GPL 2 or later
where to download the old source code I do not know.
I see here an old src rpm which seems to still exist

It will need some major recoding for it to work with the latest
versions of wine as well… last updated in 2006.

Of course if possible with limited effort at all, but the question was
“where is the source code”.
