I am Using OpenSuse 13.1 which I run with Gnome. Recently installed KDE alongside Gnome to try it out. I then noticed that the Darktable photo app no longer worked - giving seg faults with no other error information.
So I deleted the cache files as the 13.1 release note suggests, which did not help. Then I tried a "darktable -d all " to delete all files associated with Darktable - which also did not help - but did give some errors detail including a reference to the kwallet service.
To cut the story short - if kwallet is enabled - Darktable is ok. If not - it segfaults. I guess Darktable needs kwallet authenticate to access something (why)?? So from that point I am ok - just keep kwallet active (and maybe Gnome Keyring on Gnome but have not tested this yet).
Darktable 1.2.3 (current stable) and rc 1.4 give the error. I am going to try to contact the Darktable folks with this as well.
