Last Tumbleweed update could not update darktable due to following:
‘Problem: nothing provides ‘libavif.so.12()(64bit)’ needed by the to be installed darktable-3.4.1-27.17.x86_64’
To update remaining 163 items I had to de-install darktable. However, now I am not able to re-install darktable due to the above error. Both Zypper and Discover return the above message.
Can anybody help please?
Vlada.
libavif12 is build and also shipped to the Repo, but not in the Repo ( the Repo I get from download.opensuse.org), there is only libavif10…
Try the one from the multimedi libs Repos:

As I wrote: Some server may have it, some not…
This is a big annoyance and should be fixed.
Thank you all for your comments. It appears that the libavif12 is now available from Main repository (OSS), and I was now able to install darktable 3.4.1.27.17 without any further problems. Issue is therefore now resolved.
However, it would be unfortunate if this would be recurring syndrome. Please check dependencies before every new update.
