I was looking for a nice HOW-TO for using cvs on my OpenSuSE 12.1 install. I need to access code on a remote site and they provide the code via cvs. I keep finding hits on zypper instead of cvs with OpenSuSE.
THANKS!!!

If I remember right, sourceforge had a nice cvs howto.
As for installation, you only need the client side (cvs rpm), just install
it with yast.

There is nothing special about using cvs on openSUSE vs other distros or
operating systems.
This links to an old book which was published under GPL so you can
freely download it. Its old but still valid since cvs itself is old.
