I was wanting to change my wallpaper for the KDM login screen.
I couldn’t find an easy way to do it. I searched online (google) and couldn’t find any topics or how-to’s.
I began searching through the directories looking for KDM stuff and found this:
(1) /etc/kde4/kdm/backgroundrc
(2) /usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/themes/SUSE
(3) /usr/share/wallpapers/openSUSEdefault/contents/images
The (1) is a file containing config info and the location of (2). The (2) contains some KdmGreeterTheme.desktop (I’m not sure what its purpose it but I’m sure it has something to do with making the kdm wallpaper display along with the rest of the theme). Also contained in this directory are symlinks (shortcuts) of images that point to (3).
I renamed the original shortcuts in that directory, and created a shortcut of my own to another image which I named background.jpg and that worked for changing the kdm wallpaper for the login screen.
If anyone else knows a easier way to do this, please share.
Thanks,
