Good day, I was much surprised on checkbox “run in terminal” of run dialog(ctrl+F2) and ability to input custom command in “openwith” dialog disappearing. I use 12.1 version of OSS and Gnome desktop Manager. Has somebody this subject solved? Greatest thanks in advance,

Trys this: How to enable ALT + F2 run command shortcut in Gnome Shell in Ubuntu - my-guides.net

I haven’t notice that this shortcut disappeared under openSUSE ( + Gnome 3.2), but it stopped working under ArchLinux ( + Gnome 3.4) for some unknown reason. Setting the shortcut again - as explained in this Ubuntu guide - restored this functionality.

It is ALT-F2 btw.

It’s as designed for the Gnome shell, you might checkout?
https://extensions.gnome.org to see if there is an alternative.

What specific feature are you missing, history or run in terminal?

One would assume since your entering text and have your hands on
the keyboard and can use tab completion for the command and then
just press the enter key?

Greetings Malcolm, Yes, I have expected developers team wouldn’t rid functionality you described. Old dialog was really more comfortable due to ability to use comboboxed launch history and run in terminal indicator. Greatest thanks in advance,
