Cursor with tiny clock

Using XFCE.

After my last update a tiny rotating circle attached to my cursor has shown up. It’s very annoying and distracting as it implies something running is waiting for input. The only thing different that I can see when running “top” is something called “chronyd” which I never saw before.

Couls someone please enlighten me as to how to remove it? Thanks in advance.

Hi
Likely something associated with the time change… chronyd is the new time server process (ntp), maybe it needs a restart?

chronyd is the default NTP client/server, maybe it’s waiting for a network connection.

what does

systemctl status chronyd

show.
